A little bit on Worldly…
My name is Chance and the project that I have recently been devoted to is called Worldly. I wanted to write this post to tell you what it is and why we are making it.
Traveling is a huge passion of mine, and throughout my life I have been fortunate enough to travel, experience many different cultures and explore new environments. Being able to travel has always been one of the most intimate and important experiences in my life and I have wanted to share my trips and experiences with not only my family and close friends but also people I meet along the way and likeminded strangers. There are many tools out there that give you options for sharing, but I have always found them to be lacking something crucial. I want to be able to not only visualize the trips I take, but I also want to capture the spirit of the events that transpire. I realized that recording your experiences, if done right, isn’t just valuable for yourself but can be most valuable to others. It is a satisfying experience being able to tell your friends (or even a stranger) the perfect journey to embark on or moment to seek out.
During my travels, I have experienced various issues. The first of them being my desire to be able to record my travels and visualize them. I want to remember my experiences, I want to have them organized, and I want to see the old pin board on my wall of the places I have visited. I also want something to help me keep exploring. I want to discover experiences that people like me enjoy. Not just cookie cutter information, but personally relevant information about places around the globe. These two problems go hand-in-hand, because by recording your experiences for yourself, you can share experiences with others.
We want to solve these problems by creating a place where you can manage and visualize your travels like a custom infographic of your personal travel data. We want to help you share your experiences with friends and family, and in turn, use the experiences of others to help plan your next trip.
With the help of my good friend Dimitris and help here and there from a bunch of other great people, we have been assembling something that we hope will help travelers.
We’re building in new features every day and already have some pretty cool data visualizations. Check it out, let us know what you think, and please give us honest feedback to help us build something great!
